During Committee of Ministers’ Deputies’ meeting, the Permanent Representative of Malta Ambassador Lorenzo Vella, was appointed by consensus as Chair of the Rapporteur Group on External Relations (GR-EXT) for a two-year mandate.
As Chair, Ambassador Vella will be responsible for instigating and guiding the work of the GR-EXT which focuses mainly on the Council of Europe’s cooperation with the European Union, the OSCE, the United Nations, observer states, non-member states and neighbouring regions.
Ambassador Lorenzo Vella currently also holds the position of Chair of the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe.
