Mosta’s 2-1 win over early season contenders Birkirkara lifts them to joint fifth, level with Gudja Utd.
It is a second loss on the trot for B’Kara who have now gone four games without a win.
B’Kara started brightly when Simon Zibo put them in front with only five minutes on the clock. They could have gone further ahead when Yanick Yankam hit the post although Mosta were unlucky to see Clayton Failla’s free kick hit the woodwork.
Mosta did get back level on the half hour when Zachary Brincat capitalised on a poor back pass to fire past Giacoma Nava in the B’kara goal.
Minutes later, Mosta went in front when Nava failed to hold a Clayton Failla freekick and Jacob Akrong hit home from close range. Mosta held on to their lead and the points to leave B’kara wondering what went wrong.
