Two first half goals eased Floriana to a winning start to the new season against newly-promoted Pieta’ Hotspurs 2-0 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Saturday.
Mattia Veselji put them in front with just over ten minutes gone and mid-way through the first half Oualid El Hasni made it 2-0 from the penalty spot.
Gzira took an early lead against Mosta through Samuel Gomes da Mata.
Geoffrey Acheampong levelled for Mosta shortly after the restart before Vito Plut’s late strike clinched the win for Gzira.
