Work Trial Scheme For Youths Launched

Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri has launched the ‘Work Trial Scheme For Youths’.

This scheme is intended for young people to have the opportunity this summer to experience the world of work with private entities or voluntary organizations.

The ‘Work Trial Scheme for Youths’ is also a scheme aimed at helping young people between the ages of 16 and 20 in choosing their career.

These young people will have the opportunity to enter and explore the world of work, thus gaining the necessary experience for their future.

Minister Clint Camilleri said that the government, apart from investing heavily in youth where it is offering various opportunities, is also listening to and welcoming the suggestions and the strong message that this band is spreading. important in our society.

The minister also mentioned that the world of work is changing drastically, and nowadays we are hearing about careers that are totally new and far from the so-called traditional ones and therefore need to be the students, who will be the workers of tomorrow, will be trained and informed of the great opportunities that exist.

Through this scheme, students will have an income of € 90 per week, with a total of € 450 in five weeks.

The ministry will be paying employers up to 20 hours a week, then the employer can choose to incentivize these young people and continue to employ or increase their hours.

The scheme will run for five weeks between 1 August and 2 September.

Applications open on Monday 4 July and close at noon on Friday 8 July 2022.
