Former General Workers’ Union secretary-general Tony Zarb has died aged 68.
As union boss he fought against the Nationalist government’s plans to increase taxes, the closure of Malta Shipyards and famously led a protest against police arresting Malta International Airport workers for following union instructions to strike.
