“With every step you take we will be with you”, Minister Byron Camilleri to the 67 new members of the Armed Forces of Malta
During the passing out parade for 67 new members of the Armed Forces of Malta, the Minister for the Interior, Security, Reforms and Equality Byron Camilleri said that this government has shown as many times as when it was necessary, he was with the members of the Armed Forces. “It simply came to our notice then. The country is grateful for the invaluable work that will be done, wherever you are stationed, “reiterated Dr Camilleri.
He stressed that military life is not easy but the fact that one has the honor of serving one’s country and proudly wearing Maltese shades, is certainly very gratifying. “I cherished the time you spent as a group. Remember the sacrifices, the hardships and from time to time disappointments, so that you will appreciate them more satisfying days like today, “appealed the minister.
Finally, Dr. Camilleri recalled the responsibility that members of the Army have now taken on. “Not only do you want to ensure the security and integrity of our country, but you want to see that in everything you do, you respect and work for all the Maltese and Gozitan people. The role of a member of the Armed Forces is a role that people look at with respect, as it should be, now it is up to you to see that this respect is mutual. ”
Also present at the passing out parade was the Brigadier of the Armed Forces of Malta, Jeffrey Curmi.
Intake 212 began training on November 29, 2021 and the group initially consisted of 94 recruits. The recruits were exposed to military life and trained in various aspects such as physical training, weapons training, drill and other military subjects. Following this training, 67 recruits (including 4 women and 4 Gozitans) completed the training successfully.
