A worker was seriously injured when he fell down an 18-metre shaft in Rabat.
Emergency services went to the construction site near Verdala where teams set up an operation to rescue the worker.
When they extracted him from the shaft he was taken to Mater Dei Hospital where his injuries were described as serious.
The accident happened at around 6 pm on Wednesday evening.
