Irish President begins State Visit today

Ireland’s President Michael D Higgins begins a three-day State Visit today.

He will meet with President George Vella today and later will have meetings with Prime Minister Robert Abela, Speaker Anglu Agius and Opposition Leader Bernard Grech.

President Higgins will later visit St John’s Co-Cathedral and the Upper Barrakka Gardens.

He will also lay a wreath at the War Memorial in Floriana and visit the historical temples of Hagar Qim.
