Voters in France go to the polls today to elect their next president with the same two candidates from five years ago once again vying for the opportunity to lead their country.
Sitting president Emanuel Macron faces Marine Le Pen, leader of the Rassemblement National party.
Macron’s policies are more central while Le Pen a more radical position.
Polling stations opened at 8am and will close at 8pm.
Shortly afterwards early exit polls are expected to indicate who has emerged as winner.
