A man went to Marsalforn Police station on Saturday night and claimed he had been attacked in Zebbug, Gozo.
The man said his attacker had used a pointed instrument in the attack which happened in Triq il-Qbajjar, iż-Żebbuġ, some time before half past 10.
The injured man was taken to Gozo General Hospital where his injuries were described as serious.
