Ground floor in Qrendi is turned into a facility for children with autism

Through a collaboration between the government, the private sector and even a voluntary organization, a facility has been inaugurated in Qrendi which can be used free of charge by children on the autism spectrum.

During the inauguration of this project, the Minister for Inclusion, Quality of Life and Volunteering Julia Farrugia Portelli explained how what was once a deserted ground has now been transformed into a project through which it will be it becomes very good. She stated that this is a vivid example of the value of the collaboration between the government, voluntary organizations through the Association of Children with Autism, and the private sector by The Club. Minister Farrugia Portelli said that, through this collaboration, children on the autism spectrum will be able to attend free training sessions every week and make use of sensory devices for their needs. She also said that this project will be opening new horizons for improving the quality of life of these children, by offering them recreational space through weekly sessions.

This project will also benefit the Qrendi community and the surrounding area. Once a week, residents of Qrendi and surrounding villages will have the opportunity to make free use of the facility.
