Investment in schools continues- one million euros for improvements to sports facilities in various schools

Against the background of national policy to address childhood obesity, as well as to foster a sports culture in our children, an educational infrastructure project involving the replacement of various sports facilities has been announced. The aim of the project is to improve the sports infrastructure in state schools, both for recreational purposes, and to improve the level of sports education.

Details about this one million euro investment were given by the Minister for Education Justyne Caruana at the Maria Reġina school in Mosta, known as ta 'Żokrija.

Minister Caruana said that this investment complements the already announced investment of € 150 million in schools, and is a project that aims for a more qualitative life in schools. "These are projects that focus on the open spaces and sports facilities we want in our schools," said Minister Caruana.

The project involves changing the surfaces of outdoor sports facilities in about 20 schools. In these schools, the Foundation for Tomorrow’s Schools is covering the sports facilities with artificial turf. In recent years, the foundation has invested in artificial turf in several other schools.
