Seventeen people have been killed following an explosion and fire at a gunpowder plant in the village of Lesnoy in Shilovsky District, about 270 kilometres southeast of Moscow on Friday.
The incident happened at the site of a factory which specialises in the manufacture of industrial explosives for civilian use.
