On day 3 of the Marathon des Sables participants had to tackle the longest stage of the multi day race with an 80km stretch across the desert.
Andrew Abela has continued in his fine form and has climbed temporarily to 6th place. With the top 50 athletes in the race yet to conclude the stage it appears that Andrew stands a very good chance of closing the day in the top 50 of the overall rankings.
On the other hand, the situation for Thomas Cremona has not been so fortunate. After having had to deal with some problematic blisters and a hety time penalty Thomas has had to cut short his participation and has retired.
