Worker value and education as a priority for sustainable growth: Finance Minister

“To see sustainable growth in the economy, we need to focus more on the value of the worker and education and thus reduce economic dependence on sectors such as construction,” said the Minister of Finance and Labor. Clyde Caruana when asked about the importance of the environment and culture in Gozo during the third public consultation meeting at the Citadel.

During the event, the public raised various topics for discussion including the labor market in Gozo, the insularity of the island, the environment, open spaces, the impact of the Covid pandemic. -19 and the tourism sector.

Minister Clyde Caruana said, “If we increase a person’s potential through education, we open up that person more opportunities and income, and so the country gradually begins to change.”

Minister Caruana also said that investment in the green economy will continue with more incentives in favor of sustainable infrastructure and means, such as electric cars.

The next public consultation meeting will be held on Wednesday 29 September in Triq il-Kortil tal-Gran Mastru, Qormi.
