A 39-year-old man from Marsascala was arrested on Monday morning after police found around 1kg of what is believed to be cocaine.
Officers from the Anti-Drug squad had been watching the man for several days and following a car chase in Triq il-Qaliet in the town, during which the suspect crashed into a police car, he was arrested.
Officers found the drugs in his car and a search of a residence in Marsa uncovered a firearm.
