Prime Minister Robert Abela announced that the government will pay additional costs in rent for tenants who have pre-1995 rental contracts.
At a press conference together with Social Housing Minister Roderick Galdes he said that rent reform changes will mean that landlords can claim up to 2 per cent of the value of the property in rent with the government paying the rent increase which is estimated to affect around 10,000 families.
