Prime Minister Robert Abela visited the artwork put on by Carnival enthusiasts with a number of installations and trailers placed around the streets of Valletta.
Although Carnival is being celebrated differently from previous years, Dr Abela noted how Carnival enthusiasts and artists still expressed their artistic talent so that Maltese and Gozitan families could enjoy another year of the spectacular shades offered by the Maltese Carnival.
In addition to the installations around the City, the Prime Minister together with the Minister for National Heritage, Arts and Local Government José Herrera also visited an exhibition of wonderful costumes in a Creative Space. Dr Abela stated that the government is committed to continue offering the necessary help so that from year to year the Maltese Carnival will continue to be strengthened and will be an attraction for both Maltese and thousands of tourists from all over the world. .
Minister José Herrera said that he is very happy that for another year, despite the pandemic and the restrictions it has brought, we are still able to put a smile on the faces of all those who pass by any installation that has been placed around our country.
Carnival Artistic Director Jason Busuttil said that despite the restrictions in place, he was pleased with the way people visited the city and enjoyed the performances. Mr Busuttil thanked the government for the substantial financial assistance and investment that has always been given to Festivals Malta in order to organize top quality festivals.
