132 new doctors join the health service

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Chris Fearne met with some of the new doctors who joined the health service after successfully completing their studies.

132 doctors joined the Malta Foundation Programme, which is the first phase of the doctors’ career in Malta. The majority of these doctors, 109 of them, graduated from the University of Malta and they were joined by doctors who graduated from other European universities.

The Deputy Prime Minister congratulated these doctors on their academic efforts and wished them a healthy training journey. He assured them that even though this journey is a long one, it is one that leaves great satisfaction when in the end they see patients being cured with the care they offer.

Minister Fearne reminded them that health professionals are the backbone of the excellent service provided in our country and encouraged them to strive and maintain the highest levels of quality of service to patients.
