A 28-year-old Gambian man is being held in custody after suspected cannabis herb was found at his residence in Gzira.
This morning at around eight o’clock, while Immigration officers and police from Rapid Intervention Unit were conducting inspections in Hamrun, they found two men who had no identification documents on them.
The officers accompanied the men to their respective residences in order confirm identity with their documents.
In the apartment of the 28-year-old man, the police noticed some items that are allegedly used in the sale of drug
and therefore a search was carried out, which resulted in the discovery of a suspected herbal drug cannabis, with some of the drug ready in small bags, allegedly ready to be sold.
The man is being held in the Floriana Police Lock up, while investigations on the case are still going by the Anti-Drug Squad.
