Astrazeneca confirms that vaccine delivered to Malta is safe for use

Health authorities have just received official confirmation from Astrazeneca that the delivery of the COVID-19 vaccine sent earlier this week could be used. This after it was verified that the temperature of the vaccines was maintained according to the criteria established during their journey to Malta.

At a news conference yesterday, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister for Health informed the media that there was a question about one of the container temperature recorders that kept the vials and that despite there being other recorders that were working, health authorities wanted to be sure the vaccines remained good – a confirmation given by Astrazeneca earlier today.

Thus, the COVID-19 vaccine strategy can continue as planned, with the first Astrazeneca vaccines being given to non-medical frontliners under the age of 55.
