Government preparing to issue a second round of vouchers for the benefit of the people and the country

Preparations for the issuance of a second round of € 100 vouchers for all those over the age of 16 are ready as part of the Government’s initiatives to regenerate the economy and help those businesses more affected by the pandemic.

The Ministry of Economy and Industry is of the opinion that the vouchers should be issued following a stakeholder consultation process.

“We are consulting with the Health Authority together with the other stakeholders, so that the second round of vouchers will come out when we can get the best benefit from them,” said Minister Silvio Schembri.

“The intention behind the voucher initiative is precisely to stimulate the economy with an injection of more than € 45 million by generating more jobs for the affected businesses, while serving as an incentive for the people to enjoy quality a better life “, said Minister Schembri.

Therefore this measure will be implemented once this process is completed, even when it is possible for bars and clubs to open as well, so that they too can benefit from this fiscal initiative aimed at turning the tide. the bike for everyone.

The Ministry, through MIMCOL, has also taken care of various upgrades in the system to make it more convenient through technology. Those businesses that already have the digital app to redeem vouchers will not need to do anything again and will be able to use the app they already have activated.

Those who have an expired identity card or need to renew their residence permit should do so without delay with Identity Malta so that their details can be updated for when the vouchers are issued.
