The iconic Athenaeum Spa, which has been recently relaunched at Corinthia Palace Attard, now has a new Director.

Michelle Reynolds was appointed as Athenaeum Spa Director in October, following the
grand reopening of the extensively refurbished luxury spa earlier the same month.

Michelle brings to her role as Director a wealth of international experience honed in the
Middle East, Maldives and the UK through leading other renowned spas such as those at
the Berkeley Hotel in London, the Westin Doha, as well as Kempinski Marsa Malaz in
Qatar.

Her shared values of striving for five-star quality and delivering a holistic, unsurpassed
guest experience are an ideal match with those of the award-winning Corinthia Palace.
“I am overjoyed to be working on such a beautiful project. Athenaeum Spa is
phenomenal, and I have joined a team who believe, as I do, in delivering a five-star guest
experience,” says Michelle. “I am hugely excited to take on the leadership of this
spectacular Spa, particularly following its reopening where the refurbishment has been
extensive and so much thought had been put into the aesthetics of the Spa as well as
into the guest journey.”

The newly relaunched Athenaeum Spa is designed to be an oasis of tranquillity, where
guests can find calm and wellbeing for both body and mind. Its state-of-the-art facilities
include a thermal Vitality Suite, heated marble beds, a sauna and steam room, nail bar,
seven treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge and terrace, an indoor pool with a jacuzzi
and a large outdoor pool. Meanwhile, the holistic health of each guest is supported with
treatments tailored to their individual needs, created from a range of natural
ingredients. This sensorial guest experience is further nurtured by the Spa’s elegant
architecture, that draws upon Maltese culture and unique artisanal character.

“We are thrilled to welcome Michelle as Director of Athenaeum Spa,” shares Corinthia
Palace General Manager, Adrian Attard. “She has lived throughout her impressive career
our ethos of offering guests a relaxing and rejuvenating holistic experience, so she is the
ideal candidate to lead the reopened Spa towards becoming one of the best luxury spas
not just in Malta, but in the world.”
