The government is considering implementing a month-long lockdown with Prime Minister Boris Johnson expected to make an announcement on Monday on the latest measures to combat the rise in new cases of coronavirus.
There has no official comment from Downing Street but with the number of infections and hospital admissions rising alarmingly, a national lockdown is widely expected.
