Two elderly patients die after contracting Covid-19

Two elderly people aged 72 and 82 died last night after testing positive for Covid-19.

In the first case, a 72-year-old woman was admitted to Mater Dei Hospital on September 26, and was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on October 5. She continued to be treated at Mater Dei Hospital, where she died last night.

In the second case, an 82-year-old man who tested positive for Covid-19 on October 12. He was admitted to Mater Dei Hospital on 13 October and transferred to St Thomas Hospital on 16 October. As his condition worsened, he was transferred to Mater Dei Hospital again yesterday, where he died later in the evening.

Both seniors had other health conditions.

The Ministry of Health, while offering condolences to the relatives of the elderly, calls on the people to continue to follow the appeals of the Department of Health, including frequent hand washing, id the physical distance and the use of the mask everywhere.
