Two late goals earned Gzira a 3-1 win over more fancied Valletta.
It was City’s Matteo Piciollo who opened the scoring just before the break. Gzira struck back immediately through Amadou Samb who was fouled in the box and scored from the penalty spot in first half extra time.
Gzira stunned Valletta with a late second half goal when Martin Davis pounced on a poor Valletta clearance and Davis sealed the win for Gzira with a stoppage time strike.
The defeat keeps Valletta in second place, three points behind leaders Hamrun who beat Senglea 3-0.
