Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri together with the Minister for the Environment, Climate Change and Planning Aaron Farrugia launched the ninth edition of Hondoq by Night Festival, one of the largest activities taking place in Gozo , and which this year will be held on Saturday, 25 July 2020.
Minister Clint Camilleri said that those who visit Gozo this weekend will find many activities waiting for them, among them this festival on the beach of Hondoq ir-Rummien just the day after the fireworks festival that will take place in Xaghra. He went on to explain that, “the Ministry for Gozo will be at the forefront of helping financially to set up such activities that attract so many visitors to Gozo while generating domestic tourism. We are committed to continuing these events and strengthening them so that Gozo will be the destination of choice for everyone throughout the year. ”
Minister Aaron Farrugia said that such activities show the resilience of the Maltese people as we are recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. “As a Ministry, we are also financially supporting this concert, as it will take place against the backdrop of one of the most beautiful beaches in our country, that of Hondoq ir-Rummien. Our ongoing campaign, ‘Saving our Blue’, will be present to continue to deliver our message of enjoying Maltese and Gozitan beaches and beaches without the use of single-use plastics, so that these we pass on our beaches and seas to future generations better than we found them, ”said Minister Farrugia.
The Hondoq by Night Festival 2020 line-up will include some of the best local artists, including Ira Losco & band, Cash & Band, Rebecca & The Passengers, Ryan Spiteri, Micimago and Dj Darco.
