Melvin Theuma, the alleged middleman in the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia, is in a stable in condition in hospital after suffering what are believed to be self-inflicted wounds.
Theuma was rushed to hospital on Tuesday night with wounds to his neck and chest.
Police have not made any statement on the incident nor on how Theuma came to be injured.
