A relaxing weekend in the Zurrieq Valley

‘Destination Wied iż-Żurrieq’ is the theme of this weekend’s two days of activities in Wied iż-Żurrieq, hosted by the Malta Tourism Authority. The aim of these two days of activities is to highlight the natural beauty of Wied iż-Żurrieq and during which families and children as well as tourists will be able to fully participate.

The activities, both on Saturday and Sunday 25 and 26 July, will be spread over 13 hours each day, from 9.00am to 10.00pm. The program of activities is very varied and aimed at people of all ages, from children to adults. The activities range from a purely fun to a cultural one, including visits to the Xutu Tower overlooking the sea and the participation of the two Qrendi bands as well as fire shows.

Among the attractions that are expected to be most interesting are the ‘tourist boats’ visits to the Blue Grotto. The trips will take place between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm, Saturday and Sunday.

The free circular transport service to Wied iż-Żurrieq offers a solution for those who think they may have a parking problem. Not only that, everyone who uses this service benefits from a free excursion to the Blue Grotto. Those who do not use this transport will benefit from a 50% discount on the original price. The circular transport service will be provided every 20 minutes between 10 am and midnight and will depart from Qrendi Square, Zurrieq Venda and San Niklaw Street, Qrendi (near Siġġiewi). ) where one can leave one’s car.

The program of activities, in addition to those mentioned, also includes magic shows, a puppet show, archery, ball games and performances by InGuardia re-enactment every hour, Saturday between 6.30 and 9.00pm and Sunday shows take place between 5.30pm and 8.00pm.
