Today the juries will be voting on the 17 songs in the 14th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Valletta, Malta.
With the song contest moving away from televoting and to a year where all of the national juries will be voting on the performances that they will see this evening. In each of the 17 countries a jury made up of five children and a jury made up of five adult music professionals will be voting on the performances.
The only scores that will be decided during the final of Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 will be those of the Expert Panel. On the Expert Panel are Christer Björkman (Head of Delegation of Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest), Mads Grimstad (Universal Music Denmark), and Jedward (Represented Ireland at Eurovision 2011 & 2012).
This years contest sees a total of 17 countries take part in the contest. Returning to the contest this year are Cyprus, Poland and Israel.
Malta’s Christina Magrin will be singer number 5.
