FBI clear Hilary Clinton on e-mail investigation

The FBI has cleared Hillary Clinton of wrongdoing following a new trawl of email material.

FBI director James Comey told Congress on Sunday that Mrs Clinton should not face charges over messages found on the computer of disgraced politician Anthony Weiner – the estranged husband of the Democratic candidate’s close aide Huma Abedin.

This latest development in what has been described as one of the most bitter presidential campaigns in recent history could be a massive boost to Clinton who has seen her Republican opponent Donald Trump cut into her lead following the announcement that the FBI had opened a second investigation into her e-mails.

Clinton had appeared to have a clear run to the White House until the shock announcement by the FBI that it had begun a second investigation into her e-mails, that gave Donald Trump the chance to close the gap, something he seems to have achieved although Clinton still had an overall lead in the polls, albeit much smaller than it was a few weeks ago.

Donald Trump, who had praised the FBI for launching the review, said this latest development showed that Hilary Cliton was being protected by a  “rigged system”.
