Brexit: Still no agreement between UK and EU

Just five weeks remain until the United Kingdom finally leaves the European Union on December 31, yet both sides are calling on the other to compromise on the three main issues of contention – fishing, state aid and how to resolve any future disputes.

The EU’s chief negotiator Michel Barnier is preparing to travel to London this evening in a bid to find agreement on these main sticking points. He will have talks with Britain’s chief negotiator David Frost but so far there seems little movement from either side on those contentious issues.
