Solar farm for Rabat

The government will be building a solar farm at Tal-Fiddien, Rabat, which will let familiies who do not have roof space to invest in renewable energy.

Konrad Mizzi said 350 families would benefit from the scheme and that they would get credits on their electricity bills. They would be able to buy up to 3kW worth of renewable energy at a cost of €1,495 per KW.

They would then get a feed-in tarrif worth 15 cents for the first six years, and 10.5 cents from year seven till year 20.
