Four candidates have so far submitted their nomination for the causal election which will determine who will replace the former environment minister Leo Brincat, who will be moving on to the European Court of Auditors.
The four are Clifton Grimea, Emanuel Micallef, Simon Saliba, and Nikita Zammit Alamango.
The election will take place on 11th October.
