The scheme announced in June 2016 with a budget of five million euros in grants for clean energy generation by installing photovoltaic panels has almost reached its limit but due to the strong response to this scheme along with requests from various sectors including the Malta Developers’ Association for an extension of this scheme, it was decided that the sum allocated to this scheme increased by two million euros.
This extension means that the Energy Regulator will continue to receive applications for the scheme.
This will help the country have cleaner energy and will help Malta meet its 2020 targets, while families can make savings on their electric bills.
