A 77-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman have been hospitalised following an explosion inside their home in Triq it-Troll, Mqabba on Wednesday morning.
Authorities say that the explosion, at about 4.15am, was probably caused by a gas leak.
The man is believed to be in a critical condition while the condition of the woman is not yet known.
