TVM news reports that the Local Council’s Governance Board has slammed unregulated spending by the former mayor of Birkirkara Michael Fenech Adami.
In it’s report the board said that contracts for road works, hiring of vehicles and cleaning contracts had been given without following correct tendering procedures.
The board was highly critical of Fenech Adami in the way that tenders were given for the purchase of computer tables, as well as the monies given for the leasing of vehicles.
Executive Secretary Arthur Pizzzuto was critisied for failing to ensure that correct tendering procedures were followed.
Fenech Adami claimed that all spending was done correctly and that the report was a vindictive act by the government.
