President of Malta George Vella received Dr Roberta Metsola, Member of the European Parliament, at San Anton Palace and congratulated her on her election as First Vice President of the European Parliament.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on the scope of the duties attached to this position and on the future of the European Union. On behalf of the Maltese people, President George Vella wished her all the best in her work for the good of both the Maltese and European people.
