Prime Minister Robert Abela, accompanied by the Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri and the Minister for Health and Active Ageing Jo Etienne Abela, visited the Children, Adolescents and Youth Services Centre in Victoria, Gozo.
This modern centre offers a range of medical and therapeutic services for children, adolescents and young people, including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy, child and adolescent psychiatry, as well as new services such as educational dental hygienist, community paediatrics and family therapy.
Around 300 children and their families are benefiting from this centre, which is located close to the Gozo General Hospital.
During this visit, the Prime Minister had the opportunity to meet with several families who were making use of this service.
Prime Minister Robert Abela thanked the team of professionals who are offering this essential service in an appropriate and inclusive environment.
He stressed the importance of services that place children and their families at the centre of care, and that are also accessible to the Gozitan community.
This centre complements the Government’s vision of offering integrated and sustainable care, including in Gozo, where continuous investment is being made in health facilities and in the capacity of professionals in the sector.
