Strong incentives for environmental choices
The incentives we give in favor of environmental values also give consumers the opportunity to make important choices. This was pointed out by Prime Minister Robert Abela in the showroom of Michael Debono Ltd. on the occasion that marked more than sixty years of partnership between the Maltese company and the Japanese one, Toyota.
Prime Minister Robert Abela noted how the latest official figures show an increase of almost 7% in the registration of vehicles that pollute less. Prime Minister Abela said that the strong incentives that the Government continued to give even in the Budget for this year in favor of investing in vehicles that pollute less, also create an environment where these types of vehicles be more affordable for Maltese and Gozitan consumers.
Dr. Abela stressed that we must continue to incentivize the use of electric vehicles and the work is continuing in the installation of charging points throughout the country. He claimed that our country offers some of the best rates for charging electric vehicles. The Prime Minister mentioned that this environmental core is not one of convenience but a strategic one in favor of achieving the goal of Malta being carbon neutral.
The Prime Minister said that the Maltese company is also another example of Maltese entrepreneurship that is succeeding. He also noted the emphasis on sustainability and business diversification in various sectors. The company also attaches importance to the training of workers.
