The Minister for Lands and Implementation of the Electoral Program Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi together with the Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Alison Zerafa Civelli presided over the signing of a devolution agreement between the Lands Authority and the Local Council of Naxxar. Through this agreement, the administrative offices from where this Council operates, will now formally pass into the hands of the Naxxar Local Council.
Minister Zrinzo Azzopardi explained how this agreement also means that now the Local Council of Naxxar will be benefiting from a new capping scheme on the annual land lease. “Thanks to this scheme of the Land Authority that we announced a few weeks ago, the rental assessment of these offices will be only €500 per year. This means more peace of mind for the Local Council in its work and the possibility to invest more funds in initiatives for the good of the community.”
While praising the work of the Local Council of Naxxar, Minister Zrinzo Azzopardi concluded by saying that he looks forward to continue the exercise of identifying Government lands that can be handed over to the Councils Respective premises in order to utilize and carry out projects as necessary.
Parliamentary Secretary Alison Zerafa Civelli said that this agreement will leave more funds in the hands of the local council and that the council can use to address the various needs of the locality and residents. . She appealed to the local council to wisely recognize these needs and address them with projects and initiatives that lead to a better locality and an improvement in the quality of life of the residents.

The Mayor of the Local Council of Naxxar Anne Marie Muscat Fenech Adami expressed the satisfaction that the Government, through the Lands Authority, is entrusting another property in the hands of the Local Council.
