Thousands of people attend Imnarja 2026 in Buskett Thousands of people attended the Imnarja 2026 activities, organised by the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Supply, which once again brought together Maltese and Gozitan families to celebrate one of our country's oldest and most traditional events. Over several days of activities, the public had the opportunity to enjoy an extensive program that included animal shows, agricultural machinery exhibitions, fruit and vegetable showcases, agricultural competitions, a traditional parade of carriages and carts, traditional Maltese games, għana, folkloric dances, immersive multimedia displays and various other activities that brought Buskett and its surroundings to life. The culmination of the celebrations took place on the 28th and 29th of June in Buskett, where families were able to appreciate up close the work of local farmers, ranchers and producers, while enjoying the unique atmosphere that makes Imnarja one of the most traditional festivals in the hearts of the Maltese people. Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Supply Anton Refalo said that the success of this edition shows how much the Maltese and Gozitan people still appreciate and cherish their agricultural and rural heritage. "This was another successful edition that saw thousands of people visit Buskett and participate in the organized activities. This shows that Imnarja remains a living tradition that unites our communities and at the same time gives due recognition to our farmers, ranchers and producers who work every day to bring us quality food." The Minister thanked all entities involved in the organisation of the activities, the workers, the volunteers, the exhibitors, the farmers, the villagers and all the producers who contributed to making Imnarja 2026 another success. The Director for Support Services at the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Supply, Estelle Sant, also thanked the public for the large attendance and said that the strong participation of families continued to show how relevant these activities remain in bringing younger generations closer to local food production, farming and Maltese traditions. The 2026 edition of Imnarja once again confirmed the value of this national holiday as a celebration of Maltese identity, culture and agricultural heritage, while continuing to strengthen the link between the public and those who work in the agricultural sector every day.
