A life-sized board game that teaches children how to manage money was launched at Tignè Point on 6 November. The game is open to the public in the square until February 2027, the Ministry for Inclusion and Volunteering said.

Developed by Junior Achievement Young Enterprise (JA Malta) for seven- to 16-year-olds, the game uses the familiar format of Snakes and Ladders to teach saving, budgeting, investing and responsible spending. It aims to help children and teenagers make more informed decisions about money in everyday life.

Young volunteers help design, test and run the game. The project includes training so they can lead sessions in schools and community centres, as well as activities with voluntary organisations and public bodies. JA Malta aims to reach children from a range of backgrounds, including those facing disadvantage.

JA Malta plans to give the game a permanent home in an accessible, well-used community space so children and families can continue to use it after the project ends.

Inclusion and Volunteering Minister Julia Farrugia attended the launch. The Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector funded the project through its Voluntary Organisations Projects Scheme.
