Ankara, Turkey — Libya’s chief of general staff, General Mohammed Ali Ahmed al‑Haddad, and all others on board a Dassault Falcon 50 business jet were killed after the aircraft crashed south of Ankara on December 23, 2025, Turkish authorities and Libyan officials confirmed.
Turkish interior and aviation officials said the aircraft departed Esenboğa Airport bound for Tripoli in the evening and reported an emergency while over the Haymana district. Air traffic controllers lost contact with the jet about 40 minutes after takeoff; search teams later located the wreckage near the village of Kesikkavak.
