Second edition of Festa Ħaddiem – Minn Id il-Public Works announced

More activities, new experiences and a greater celebration of Maltese craftsmanship at Ta’ Qali

Following the success of the first edition, the Parliamentary Secretariat for Public Works, together with the Public Works Department, is announcing the second edition of Festa Xaddiem – Minn Id il-Public Works , which will take place on Saturday 2 nd May and Sunday 3 rd May at the Concert Area in Ta’ Qali.

This event, designed for the whole family, continues to build on the vision of celebrating the work and craftsmanship of Public Works employees, while offering a more educational and entertaining experience for all those attending.

Over these two days, visitors will have the opportunity to experience traditional Maltese crafts such as woodworking, stonework, tile laying and restoration, among others. There will also be dedicated areas where children can participate in creative and educational activities related to these crafts, as well as traditional games.

There will also be spaces dedicated to technology and innovation, including virtual reality experiences related to major infrastructural projects, as well as exhibitions showcasing how the work of Public Works is contributing to a more sustainable environment.

The program, which offers free entry, will also include entertainment for the whole family, including live musical performances, a variety of games for children of all ages, activities for youths, and a wide selection of food and beverages.

Parliamentary Secretary for Public Works Omar Farrugia stated that, in the country’s largest open space, “we are extending an invitation for everyone to join us on the 2nd and 3rd of May for Festa Xaddiem – Minn Id il-Public Works .” Farrugia added that the event was first launched last year “to showcase the talent, craftsmanship and wide-ranging works carried out by this department,” which contributes extensively across the country, while also “providing free activities for all families.”

The parliamentary secretary concluded by encouraging the public “to join us at the Concert Area on the 2 nd and 3 rd of May for the second edition of Festa Đaddiem.”

The Head of the Ta’ Qali National Park Unit, Jason Micallef, stated that the unique setting of the Concert Area “will welcome many Maltese and Gozitan families on the 2nd and 3rd of May for this event.” Micallef added that the area offers all the necessary facilities “to ensure that events like this are a success, and above all, provide a unique recreational experience that enhances quality time spent with your families.”

The public is invited to attend and take part in this celebration, which brings together tradition, learning and entertainment in one unique setting, enhanced by the beauty of the Ta’ Qali National Park and the Concert Area.
