Following days of police observation in connection with reports of individuals begging for money in the Gżira area, an operation was carried out early Tuesday morning with the assistance of officers from the Detention Services Agency.
During this operation, 32 people were arrested after being found to be living in the country without the necessary papers, including the two individuals allegedly involved in begging.
Those arrested are currently being held at a detention centre pending the necessary procedures for their repatriation.
