The final days in Maltese futsal have been full of action and important results as the competition approaches its decisive phase.
In the Premier Futsal League Malta, the standout match of the week saw University of Malta Futsal face Luxol St Andrews Futsal in a highly anticipated clash. Luxol secured an important 4-1 victory, strengthening their position at the top of the table, with University of Malta still chasing behind.
In the other match, Marsaskala Futsal Legends were defeated 3-4 by GZR Birzebbugia St Peter’s Futsal. Marsaskala had taken the lead, but Birzebbugia mounted a strong comeback in the second half to turn the result around.
The standings are now as follows: Luxol St Andrews Futsal lead with 33 points, followed by University of Malta Futsal with 27 points, Marsaskala Futsal Legends and GZR Birzebbugia St Peter’s Futsal both on 21 points, while Zejtun Corinthians Futsal WA sit fifth with 12 points — with the possibility of a decider to determine third and fourth place.
In the Challenger League Malta Futsal, the quarter-finals saw Santa Venera Lightnings claim a dominant 7-1 win over Futsal Selection U17. Attention now turns to the semi-finals, where Zejtun Corinthians will face Santa Venera Lightnings on 22 April 2026, while Futsal Selection U19 will take on Sliema Futsal on 25 April 2026, with both matches being played at the National Sports School. The final will then be held on 16 May 2026 between the two semi-final winners.
