During a patrol in Trejqet San Pietru, Ħamrun, on Thursday, officers noticed a person allegedly handing over a packet containing a substance suspected to be drugs to another individual.
The man, was stopped by the police and a search carried out on him revealed 28 sachets containing a substance suspected to be synthetic drugs, along with a knuckle duster and an amount of cash.
Searches were also carried out at his residence in Triq il-Farfett, Marsa, where further synthetic drugs were found, along with blocks of a substance suspected to be cannabis resin and other items related to drug trafficking.
The man is expected to be arraigned in court in the coming hours.
