Prime Minister Robert Abela Prime Minister Robert Abela, together with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism Ian Borg, addressed an event organised by Tastees Manufacturing Ltd during which the company announced the launch of new products. The event also served as a celebration of the successful journey of the company, which since its establishment in 1969 has continued to grow and strengthen, to today establish itself as one of the leading companies in the food manufacturing sector in our country, with products that have achieved a distinguished place in the local market and beyond.

Prime Minister Abela pointed out that the Government will remain committed to supporting an economy, which allows for the support of Maltese and Gozitan businesses that show the will and courage to expand. He recalled that, at a time when many companies across Europe faced unprecedented challenges and uncertainties, the Maltese Government stepped in to ensure stability in energy prices, with the aim of giving businesses certainty so that they can continue to plan for the future. He added that the Malta Business Wallet initiative will serve as a digital tool that will substantially simplify processes related to due diligence and compliance obligations. Dr Abela maintained that a resilient and future-ready economy requires a workforce prepared for tomorrow’s challenges. Therefore, the Government is continuing to invest in strengthening the skills of workers. He said that in the coming months, through the “AI for All” initiative, workers will be helped to continue improving their digital skills, thus equipping our country’s workforce to keep up with technological advances. The Prime Minister also explained how these efforts are being strengthened through various schemes and assistance offered by public entities including Malta Enterprise, INDIS Malta and TradeMalta. He said that, through the assistance from public entities, the Government is ensuring that businesses are given the necessary support. He maintained that it was precisely this support framework that encouraged companies such as Tastees Manufacturing Ltd to invest more, adopt new technologies and expand their operations. The Prime Minister said that, through investment in technology and automation, Tastees Manufacturing Ltd is clearly demonstrating that local industries can continue to evolve, increase their productive capacity and compete successfully on an international level. Dr Abela said that the vision embraced by this company is in line with the principles of the Malta 2050 Vision – a vision that places emphasis on innovation, sustainability and the creation of added value. Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg said that Tastees Manufacturing Ltd and its continued expansion, “show how with the support of entities such as TradeMalta, Maltese companies can continue to grow overseas and reach international markets. He added that, “the products of this company not only represent commercial success, but also serve as a means for us to continue to promote Malta around the world.” “What Tastees Manufacturing Ltd produces is not only synonymous with all those who visit us but is delivering Maltese quality and identity wherever it is exported,” concluded Deputy Prime Minister Borg.
