KM Malta Airlines, Centrecom, and MCAST sign agreement to strengthen aviation education and training

KM Malta Airlines, together with Centrecom Ltd, has signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) with the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) to
establish a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening education and training pathways
for Malta’s aviation sector.
The agreement sets out a structured framework for collaboration between the three
organisations, with a strong focus on ensuring that academic programmes remain closely
aligned with the evolving needs of the aviation industry. Through this partnership, students
will benefit from increased access to practical industry exposure while developing skills
directly relevant to real-world operational environments.
Under the terms of the Memorandum, MCAST will work closely with KM Malta Airlines and
Centrecom to deliver industry-focused opportunities. Students will gain direct exposure to
industry technologies and operational systems currently in use within the aviation
environment. This hands-on experience is designed to strengthen the link between
academic learning and professional application, better preparing graduates for entry into
the aviation workforce.
Through this collaboration, KM Malta Airlines and Centrecom will play an active role in
supporting students’ transition from education into employment. Both organisations will
explore opportunities to offer structured student apprenticeships and entry-level roles
across a range of aviation-related functions, providing participants with meaningful
exposure to live operational environments.
By offering access to real workplace settings, mentoring and hands-on operational
experience, the partnership aims to enhance employability while supporting the
development of a skilled, future-ready aviation workforce in Malta. The collaboration also
creates a clear pipeline for identifying talent and fostering long-term career development
within the local aviation ecosystem.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by KM Malta Airlines Chief Officer People &
Culture, Robert Fenech; Robert Spiteri, CEO of Centrecom Ltd; and MCAST Principal and
CEO, Stephen Vella.
